of cash flow and opportunity costs on financial decisions, which distinguishes WFR in the financial services marketplace.
The mission of WFR is to provide valuable information, ideas and solutions so that people may make the
most informed decisions when undergoing Executive Benefits, Business Continuation, and Private Wealth Planning.
Core Values & Beliefs
Wisdom: Information & knowledge, tempered by experience, creates wisdom to share
Trust: We place the interest of clients before our own or that of any financial institution.
Integrity: We deliver what is promised.
Accountability: Client service is a continuous process of adding value to the client relationship.
- Clients must be educated and empowered regarding their financial matters.
- Clients have the right to determine who will benefit from their success.
- Clients have a responsibility to their employees and family to make conscious decisions regarding their financial future, not to leave things to chance.
- We can advocate on behalf of clients sharing these values, as well as that of their employees and families, so that they make the best possible financial decisions.
William Weir, CLU founded WFR in 1965, working primarily with medical practices and other service professionals.
Bill's focus on executive benefits planning began in the mid-1980s, when a friend and CEO at one of Buffalo's prominent public companies
asked for help installing a deferred compensation plan.
His natural curiosity and acumen led Bill and his staff to develop a unique and accomplished practice specializing in executive benefits, including
deferred compensation, supplemental executive retirement plans (SERPs), split dollar, executive bonus, as well as supplemental executive individual
disability insurance programs.
Joining the firm in 1994, Bill's son Jonathan Weir, JD*, built on this foundation. He expanded the service and
product offerings through national planning and product partners, as well as fee for service offerings. Jon also spearheaded WFR's move into benefit
planning and surplus enhancement for financial institutions.
With the additional leadership now of former bank Treasurer and CFO, Gary Kajtoch, MBA and a burgeoning partnership with national Lion Street partners like,
iZale Financial, EBS and The Westport Group, WFR is looking forward to provide clients and prospective clients even greater information,
ideas and solutions.
